Prelude to a Blue Moon!

Once again we are out on White Bear Lake, this time under the first of two full moons in August - a rare occurrence known as a "Blue Moon" (hence the term "once in a blue moon...")  A beautiful night in Minnesota! (...yes, that's the moon, not the sun!)

Jack Wins!

Jack's baseball team wins again... this time the big game - the Maplewood Baseball League championship, defeating 16 other teams to take the title!  Jack started the game with a foul ball that broke one of the field lights... then went on to get a double.  What a night!

Sailing the St. Croix!

Luke and Libby are on the water again, this time sailing the 420 sloops at the Saint Croix Sailing School out of Hudson, Wisconsin.  Libby is sailing with a new friend named Afton, and Luke is with his friend Trintin.  Today was capsize day!

Slalom Rocks!

 Libby and Luke are up on one ski!  They've discovered that slalom skiing is the way to go... and to think that Dad almost didn't make it up to the cabin on Briggs Lake, thanks to a trailer flat tire, in the rain on a busy I-94...  Good job kids!  (Even CC approves...).  Check out the 15-second video, as Luke drops a ski for the first time!

Happy Independence Day!

A full day on White Bear Lake for the 4th of July - what could be better, in 100-degree Minnesota heat?!  Boating, skiing, hanging at the "Point" with friends, Nancy's lake-front party - and of course, fireworks!
